Rhododendron - Ken Janeck
An elepidote, medium growing Rhododendron. 2 1/2″ flowers are pink fading to white with a dark pink edge and green spotting. Blooms midseason, flowers are born in trusses of 13-17 flowers. Dark green leaves emerge with thick indumentum. Grows 3′ high by 5′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Seedling from Rhododendron yakushimanum. Introduced by Kenneth Janeck of Washington in 1965.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
