Azalea ‘Kinsai’
Azalea - Satsuki - Distinguished Gold
A very distinct Satsuki Azalea which features, single, medium 1.5″-2.5″ flowers that are extremely narrow. These deep orange-red flowers can on occasion produce full size flowers which are often removed to encourage more growth of narrow petals. Small leaves accompany this low and spreading variety. Blooms in May.

Parentage unknown.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
