Rootbeer lovers rejoyce! This elepidote, tall growing Rhododendron has flowers with rootbeer fragrance! 4 1/2″ flowers are white with pinkish margins and a yellow throat. The pinkish tones eventually fade. Flowers are borne in trusses of 15 flowers. Blooms late midseason. Grows 5′ high by 6′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Hybrid seedling of Rhododendron 'Anna' and Rhododendron 'Margaret Dunn'. Bred by James Delbert W. of Oregon in 1969.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
