Azalea ‘Matsu kagami’
Azalea - Satsuki - Pine Mirror
An upright Satsuki Azalea featuring 2-2.5″ wide flowers mid to late season. Flowers are typically white with vibrant red stripes and speckles but can occasionally be almost completely red too. Foliage is small. Grows 2′ high by 3′ wide.

Origin
Cross between Azalea 'Matsunami' and Azalea 'Yata no Kagami'. Introduced in 1967 by Chusaku Takeda of Japan.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
