Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Palo Alto’

Sweetgum - American - St. Palo Alto

A medium growing pyramidal selection of the American Sweetgum. New leaves which are smaller than the species emerge with a slight purple hue and mature to bright green. Fall colour is brilliant shades of orange, red and purple. Known for is corky fissures on bark even at a young age. Seldom produces fruit. Grows 40-50′ high by 40′ wide.
