A stunning clumping Bamboo. Brick red culms are more upright than other clumping cultivars. These culms turn cherry red in spring and fall with enough light given. Finer foliage than other Fargesia members. Expect it to reach 10-12′ high once established.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Collected seedling from Jiuzhaigou Park in northern Sichuan China.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Tolerant of most soils. Avoid bone-dry soils. They enjoy their old leaves being left on the ground as a natural mulch/fertilizer.
Maintenance: Remove old culms which do not leaf out by late spring.
Bamboo will only flower once in their lifetime, dying shortly after.
