A very visually appealing clumping Bamboo. Dark green culms emerge from hairy, rusty-red shoots which retain their sheaths to give a stunning display. Expect it to reach 10-12′ high once establsihed. Natively, 15′ high.

Origin
Originated from Szechwan, China.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Tolerant of most soils. Avoid bone-dry soils. They enjoy their old leaves being left on the ground as a natural mulch/fertilizer.
Maintenance: Remove old culms which do not leaf out by late spring.
Bamboo will only flower once in their lifetime, dying shortly after.
