Chinese Flowering Dogwood - Summer Games

An irregularly variegated Chinese Flowering Dogwood. Dark green foliage is splashed with white, cream and pink variegation. The amount on each leaf can vary from being almost completely green to almost completely white, and often in between. Foliage turns shades of red, orange and purple during the fall. White bracts (flowers) appear in late spring and are followed by strawberry like fruits in the fall. Grows 15′ – 20′ high and wide.

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Weston Nurseries of Massachusetts before 1998.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done in the spring right after the flowers finish. Do not trim summer or afterwards as, you will be removing next springs flower buds.
