Acer buergerianum ‘Mino yatsubusa’

Trident Maple - Mino yatsubusa

A dwarf Trident Maple with very distinctive ‘T-shaped’ leaves. All leaf lobes are narrow with the main center one being extra long compared to the two side ones which extend at almost right angles from the base. The center lobe also has irregular serrations on either side of it. Foliage emerges a bronzy-green transitioning to a shiny rich green by summer and changing to reds and oranges in the fall. Corky bark is also said to develop with age. Grows 4′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Soil: Tolerant of various soils but prefers a well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
