Japanese Maple - Carl's Corner

A dwarf Japanese Maple with a tight and compact growth habit. Deeply divided small leaves emerge bright pink-red in spring and transition to purple-red which holds throughout the summer. Foliage turns brilliant scarlet in fall. Grows 4-5′ high by 3-4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Originated as a witch's broom, found at Carll's Corner Shopping Center in New Jersey.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
