Japanese Maple - Purple Crunch
A more hidden Japanese Maple, not too often seen. New spring foliage emerges reddish-purple and quickly changes to a more greenish tone with purple-margin. The leaves continue to transition to a dark bluish-green colouration which lasts through summer. Foliage transitions to a flaming red during the fall. Grows 5-6′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Introduced by Aaron English, Washington.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
