Japanese Maple - Princess Virgin
A compact, dwarf growing Japanese Maple that has bright red new spring foliage. By summer, the leaves transition to a more typical maroon colour before transitioning again to a brilliant red colour. In the summer when new growth appears, this plant takes on a two-tone effect with both red and maroon foliage. Grows 3-5′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Discovered in Japan before 1994.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
