A medium growing weeping European Beech. Forms a narrow upright habit of pendulous side branches of deep purple leaves. Often used as a specimen. Grows 30′ high by 12′ wide.

Origin
Seedling of Fagus sylvatica 'Purpurea Pendula'. Selected by Grootendoorst Nursery of the Netherlands in 1975.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to early August.
