
Acer buergerianum ‘Hana chiru sato’
Trident Maple - Village of Falling Flowers
A variegated Trident Maple! New spring leaves emerge a light pink and transition to a creamy-white with pink throats and eventually green veins. By summer, the leaves fade to a more solid green colour with a new flush of foliage being more orange in colour. Foliage turns vibrant red in the fall. Grows 10′ high by 8′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Selected by R. Hayashida in 1960.
Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.
Soil: Tolerant of various soils but prefers a well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
