Hybrid Flowering Dogwood - Venus®
Extraordinarily large blooms accompany this Hybrid Flowering Dogwood! Bracts (flowers) up to 8″ wide occur in spring. Glossy green spring and summer leaves turn red and orange during the fall. Very disease resistant. Fast growing to 25′ high by 20′ wide.

Origin
Seedling from the parentage of (Cornus kousa ‘Chinensis’ × C. nuttallii ‘Goldspot’) × C. kousa ‘Rosea’. Found and introduced by Rutgers University in 1984.

Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done in the spring right after the flowers finish. Do not trim summer or afterwards as, you will be removing next springs flower buds.
