NATIVAR – A dwarf Canadian Hemlock. Forms a very slow globe of extremely tiny dark green needles and cinnamon buds. Grows 1.5′ high by 2′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Found growing in the wild at Quinebaugh, Vermont in 1936. Introduced by Stewart's Nursery of Rhode Island.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun to Full Shade.

Soil: Prefers moist, well draining, acidic soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay and dry soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
