NATIVAR – A dwarf Canadian Hemlock featuring numerous extremely twisted and curly-queued branch-tips mimicking that of a “pig’s tail”. Forms a flatten globe of short dark green needles. Grows 1.5′ high by 2′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Seedling selected by William C. Horsford of Connecticut around 1970.

Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun to Full Shade.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining, acidic soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay and dry soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
