
Taxodium distichum
Bald Cypress
A large growing, pyramidal Cypress tree. Light green feathery leaves turn orange-bronze in fall before shedding. Seed cones are 20-35mm emerging green and maturing brown. Known for producing “knees” along the water edge. Very similar style to the Dawn Redwood but with smaller needles, slower growth and more cold hardy. Grows 14′ high by 7′ wide in a 10 year period.

Native to Southeastern USA.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers slightly acidic soils. Moisture tolerant.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
