Rhododendron - PJM Elite Star
A lepidote, medium growing Rhododendron. 1 3/4″ ruffled lavender pink flowers are deeper in colour than ‘PJM Elite’. Blooms early mid-season. Dark green leaves turn reddish-purple in fall and retain this colouration throughout the winter months. More compact than ‘PJM Elite’, growing 4′-5′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Arose from a branch mutation of Rhododendron 'PJM Elite'. Found by Gurjit Sidhu of British Columbia in 2012.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
