Rhododendron - Bashful
Part of the Seven Dwarfs series. An elepidote, medium growing Rhododendron. Rose pink, 2 3/8″ flowers with deeper edge shading and a reddish-brown blotch are born in trusses of 16 flowers. Blooms midseason. New leaves emerge with greyish indumenum. Compact, grows 3′-4′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Hybrid seedling of Rhododendron yakushimanum and Rhododendron 'Doncaster'. Introduced by John Waterer in 1971.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
