Hybrid Oak - Chimney Fire

A wonderful columnar Oak! New spring foliage emerges red and matures to dark green by summer. Fall foliage transitions to stunning scarlet-red colourations. Branches ascend straightly upwards without curving like other similar varieties. Mildew resistant. Grows 30′-40′ high by 10′ wide.

Origin

Cross of Quercus x warei (Q. robur f. fastigiata and Q. bicolor) and Quercus alba. Selected and introduced by Guy Sternberg of Starhill Forest Arboretum, Illinois in 2000.

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers slightly acidic soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
