Ponderosa Pine
NATIVE – A very unique large growing Pine. Long needles (up to 10″) are glossy green and borne in fascicles of three. Reddish-brown bark is deeply fissured on older specimens. Perhaps the key feature of this pine is that once mature, it can produce very large cones (up to 6″ long). Drought and salt toe Grows 14′ high by 7′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Native to Western North America from British Columbia, through the USA into Mexico.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Candling is done to new spring shoots before the needles fully emerge.
