A slow-growing, dwarf Japanese White Pine. Spreading to upright habit. Short, twisted, blue-green needles. Prized for Bonsai due to its heavy bud-set (yatsubusa cultivar). Grows 3′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Imported into the USA before 1953.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Candling is done to new spring shoots before the needles fully emerge.
