A dwarf Oriental Spruce with shiny dark green needles. Dense, originally starting off as a globe shape but will develop a leader in time to become more conical in shape. Grows 1.5′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Originated as a witch's broom at Barnes Estate and Arboretum in Hopwood, Pennsylvania. Introduced by Layne Ziegenfuss of Hillside Gardens Nursery, Pennsylvania, before 1970.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers slightly acidic soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
