European Beech - Red Obelisk
A medium growing, narrow-upright European Beech. Reddish-purple leaves have serrated leaf edges (as opposed to smooth on Dawyck Purple) and mature bronzy by summer. Grows 40′ high by 12′ wide.

Hybrid seedling of Fagus sylvatica 'Rohanii' and Fagus sylvatica 'Dawyck'. Selected by Dick Van Hoey Smith of Holland in 1968.

Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to early August.
