Azalea - Northern Lights
Part of the Northern Lights Series. A deciduous Azalea which produces sweetly fragrant, deep pink flowers. Green leaves transition to purple-red in the fall. Grows 5′-7′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Introduced in 1978 by the University of Minnesota.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
The Northern Lights series of Azaleas were bred at the University of Minnesota and are renowned for there extreme flower bud hardiness.
