Azalea - Mandarin Lights
Part of the Northern Lights Series. A deciduous Azalea with bright red-orange flowers that have a wavy edge and a light fragrance. Flowers late May. Green foliage turns purple during the fall. Grows 5′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Hybrid seedling Azalea calendulaceum and Azalea 'Orangeade'. Bred in 1967 at the University of Minnesota.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
The Northern Lights series of Azaleas were bred at the University of Minnesota and are renowned for there extreme flower bud hardiness.
