Azalea - Lemon Lights
Part of the Northern Lights Series. A deciduous Azalea which produces an abundance of slightly scented lemon-yellow flowers. Flowers are wavy-edged and bloom late midseason. Green leaves turn a purplish colour during the fall. Grows 4′-6′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Hybrid seedling of an unknown Azalea Exbury (hybrid) and an unknown Azalea atlanticum (hybrid) Bred by the University of Minnesota in 1978.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
The Northern Lights series of Azaleas were bred at the University of Minnesota and are renowned for there extreme flower bud hardiness.
