Japanese Siebold Maple - Ogura yama

A medium sized Siebold Maple. New spring foliage emerges a light chartreuse colour quickly changing to pure green while covered with extremely fine hairs (pubescence) giving it a silvery appearance. By summer, the leaves are dark and all the hairs are gone. Fall colours include rich orange and red. Leaves also have a tendency to cup upwards. Grows 8′ high by 5′ wide in a 10 year period.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
