Acer palmatum ‘Ukon’
Japanese Maple - Green Coral
Similar to ‘Aoyagi’ and many places consider them the same, however, it differs in parentage so subtle differences maybe seen. Yellow new leaves emerge in the spring maturing to a lighter green by summer and a golden-yellow fall colour. Considered to be the green sibling of ‘Sango kaku’ as it has bright green bark which is accentuated during the winter. Grows 6′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.
