Japanese Maple - Tiny Stars

A newer dwarf Japanese Maple with star shaped leaves. Branches are much more open compared to other dwarf varieties. New spring leaves emerge light green with a lighter red hue overtone. By summer, the leaves darken to a more medium green with just a faint red edge left. For fall, the foliage tranforms into shades of orange and red. Grows 5′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Discovered and introduced by Buchholz Nursery of Oregon.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
