Japanese Maple - Taylor

A newer selection of Japanese Maple. Small, bright salmon-pink new spring foliage with irregular splotches of light and dark green. The leaves fade to a more deeper green with whitish splotches by summer but are complemented with a second flush of new pink foliage. Fall foliage turns a bright red. Dense, grows 6′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Cross-pollinated seedling during the spring of 1996 in Boskoop, The Netherlands.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
