
Acer palmatum ‘Little Red’
Japanese Maple - Little Red
Think of this as a miniature form of ‘Twombly’s Red Sentinel’! Bright red new spring leaves transition to purplish-red by summer. While a second flush brings out the bright red colour again adding contrast. Fall colour is scarelt red. Columnar and compact, grows 6-8′ high by 2-3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Introduced by Crispin Silva of Oregon.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
