Japanese Maple - The Umbrella Mountain

A stunning, narrow-upright variegated Japanese Maple with a kaleidoscope of colours! New spring leaves emerge with creamy colours of red, yellow, and pink unfurl with dark green veins. By summer the pinks and reds fade to more of a creamy-white. In the fall, colours of orange, yellow and red are displayed. Grows 8′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Listed in Japan since the early 1880's.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
