Japanese Maple - Coral Pink

An outstanding Japanese Maple with small leaves. Spring growth emerges a coral pink colour almost whitish and is complimented by pink-red new shoots. The leaves transition to a yellowish colour with a pink edge before maturing to a light green summer colour with potential mottled grey-green variegation. In fall colour, ranges from red to yellow to orange. An upright shrub growing to 6′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Original found at the Arboretum Kalmthout in Belgium around 1965.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
