Azalea - Connon's Double

Deciduous. A stunning double flowering array of creamy-yellow flowers with pinkish tips! June flowers are lightly scented and are bright coral-red in bud. Leaves emerge with a bronzish tinge, maturing to dark green by summer and transitioning to bronzy-red in the fall. Grows 5′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Hybrid seedling of Azalea 'Corneille' and Azalea 'Cecile'. Bred by Clifford Cannon of the USA in 1970.

Special Notes

Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.

Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.

Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
