Japanese Maple - Post in a River to Which Boats are Tied

One of the oldest Japanese Maple varieties! Medium sized leaves emerge bright green with purple tips in the spring. The foliage changes to a solid green by summer and fall brings tri-colours of yellow, orange and red. Similar to ‘Tana’ which has broader leaf lobes. Upright and horizontal branching, grows 8′ high by 5′ wide in a 10 year period.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
