Japanese Maple - Ruslyn in the Pink

Large, broad (almost fullmoon maple like) leaves emerge pink in the spring and deepen to a more purplish colour. By summer the colours fade to a more bronzy-green before changing to bright oranges and reds in the fall. Dwarf, grows 4-5′ high by 3-4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Discovered and introduced at Ruslyn Nursery, New York.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
