Acer circinatum ‘Monroe’
Vine Maple - Monroe
NATIVAR – A cutleaf variety of Vine Maple with leaves very similar to Acer japonicum ‘Aconitifolium’! Big lacey- leaves emerge yellow-green in spring and transition to a medium-green in the summer with purplish stems. During fall, the foliage gets shades of yellow, orange and red. Grows 8′ high by 6′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Original plant found deep in the Cascade Mountains, Oregon by Warner Monroe in 1960. Noted to be the first true variety of Acer circinatum to be described and named.
Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
