A dwarf Hiba Arborvitae being cultivated for a very long time. Forms a flat-topped mound of rich green foliage having a lizard-like texture. Foliage is smaller than species. Grows 2′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Originated from Japan. Introduced by Veitch & Sons Nursery of the United Kingdom in 1861.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Shade or indirect/filtered light. Must be planted in a well protected area out of the prevailing winter winds.
Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers slightly acidic soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
