Scots Pine - Green Penguin

A very dense, dwarf Scots pine forming a tight pyramidal shape. Bright, rich green needles are tufted at the stem tips. The rich colour holds well throughout winter unlike similar cultivars which can fade. Grows 3′ high by 1.5′ wide in a 10 year period.

Chance seedling of Pinus sylvestris (species) found by Jim Lews of J. Farms, Oregon in the late 1990s.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Adaptable to various well drained soils which are slightly acidic.

Maintenance: Candling is done to new spring shoots before the needles fully emerge.
