Black Gum - Zydeco Twist
NATIVAR – A very unique Black Gum having a contorted habit. The zig-zagging branches have a similar effect to that of a contorted willow. Glossy green spring and summer leaves turn fiery red to deep maroon during the fall. Grows 5′-8′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Believed to be found as a chance seedling at Rick Webb’s Nursery, Louisiana.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Shade.
Soil: Prefers well draining, slightly acidic soil. Dislikes clay soil.
Maintenance: Selective pruning in spring right after flowering is done.
