Bamboo - Nude Sheath
One of the most cold hardy spreading Bamboo. One of the species used for edible new shoots. New culms emerge almost black before maturing to dark green. Leaves are also dark green, more so than other species. Expect it to reach 15-18′ high once established. Natively, 25-30′ high with a culm diameter of 1-2″.

Native to China.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Tolerant of most soils. Avoid bone-dry soils. They enjoy their old leaves being left on the ground as a natural mulch/fertilizer.
Maintenance: Remove old culms which do not leaf out by late spring.
