NATIVAR – A dwarf, very low spreading Canadian Hemlock. Gray-geen needles are attached to prostrating branches which show exposed gray stems from above giving it an ancient look. Grows 8-10″ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Originated as a mutation found by H.R. Cole at the base of Mount Madison, New Hampshire in 1929.

Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun to Full Shade.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining, acidic soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay and dry soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
