A unique lepidote, dwarf growing Rhododendron. 100’s of tiny little blush pink flowers covers the plant starting in late May. Tiny little boxwood like leaves add to the attractiveness. Grows 2′-3′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Hybrid seedling between an unnamed Rhododendron hirsutum variety and unnamed Rhododendron micranthum variety. Bred in 1997 in Germany.

Special Notes

Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.

Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.

Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
