Rhododendron ‘Holden’s Peach’
Rhododendron - Holden's ™ Peach
An elepidote, medium growing Rhododendron bred to withstand Phytophthora cinnamomi which causes root rot. Mauve pink buds open to ivory-peach flowers with a yellow throat. Blooms mid-May in trusses of 11 flowers which are 1 3/4″ wide. Compact, grows 4′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Hybrid seedling of Rhododendron 'Golden Gala' and Rhododendron 'Rio'. Bred in 1997 and introduced by the Holden Arboretum in Ohio.

Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
