An outstanding, elepidote, medium growing Rhododendron. 2″ wavy, vivid red flowers are born in trusses of 18 flowers, early midseason. Its pièce de résistance, the stunning rich red colour seen on the undersides of its leaves! Grows 3′-4′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Hybrid seedling of a Rhododendron ('Pretty Baby x pachysanthum) hybrid and Rhododendron 'Whid Bee'. Bred by Frank Fujioka of Washington in 2001.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
