Azalea - Satsuki - Moon of Virtue

A older Satsuki Azalea variety which features abundant large 3-4″ wavy edged flowers during late season. Flower colour is very variable, ranging from solid white to solid light-pink, often showcasing white flowers with pink and red stripes. Grows 14″ high by 36″ wide.

Origin

Cross between Azalea 'Banka' and Azalea 'Shinnyo no Tsuki'. Introduced in 1956.

Special Notes

Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.

Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.

Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
