NATIVAR – A dwarf Sitka Spruce forming a tight ball when young. With age, it takes on a leader to form a broad cone shape. Sharp, short, two-tone green and blue needles. Grows 2.5′ high by 2′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Found as a seedling on Vancouver Island, Canada by Gordon Bentham and given to the Parks Department in 1964.

Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers slightly acidic soils.
