Norway Spruce - Middle Finger

A large, upright Norway Spruce with an open columnar form. Considered to be an improvement over ‘Hillside Upright’. Side branches grow about half the rate as the leader, developing a nice uniform appearance. Side branches also have a dominate central bud, thus name originates from. Grows 12′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Found as a seedling by Richard Haslebacher of Woods Creek Horticultural, Oregon along a highway.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.

Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers  slightly acidic soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
